Founded
in the year 884 by the count Diego Rodríguez Porcelos,
under Alfonso's III reign, the city of Burgos preserves the
stamp of centuries that its founders put in it. The whole
city has corners, squares and alleys of singular flavor and
highlighted beauty, not only for its monuments, but as the
beautiful parks that invite to walk, enjoying its multiple
captivations. From the hill of the Castle, privileged viewing-point
of the City, Burgos appears within reach of our hand, showing
us the studding of its old neighborhoods presided by the singular
print of the Cathedral, which spreads all its greatness towards
the blue and pure skies of Castilla. And the Gothic churches
of San Esteban, San Gil, Saint Nicholas and Santa Águeda;
just beyond, San Lesmes and to the suburbs of the city, the
splendid set of the Real Monasterio de las Huelgas and, in
the distance, like lost among greeneries of pinegroves, la
