The
province of Cordova relies on an extension of 13.718 km2 and
includes 75 municipalities. Placed among Sierra Morena in
the north and the SubAndalusian mountains in the south, and
divided by the depression of the Guadalquivir, it borders
in the northern part on the provinces of Ciudad Real and Badajoz,
in the western part on that of Seville, in the eastern part
on that of Jaen, and in the southern part on those of Malaga
and Granada. Cordova city is on the banks of the Guadalquivir,
106 m. altitude, and has a surface of 1.245 km 2, being 402
km. far from the capital of Spain.
