Situation.
The archipelago of the Balearic Islands is placed to Europa's
southwest, in the central part of the Mediterranean western
basin. The city of Palm, capital of the Balearics, is placed
in the island of Majorca, the major one of the Balearics,
of geographical location 3 º of east length and 39 º
of north latitude.
Territory.
The municipal term of Palma has a surface of 21.355,844 hectares
and borders on the terms of Calvià, Puigpunyent, Esporles,
Valldemossa, Bunyola, Marratxí, Santa Eugènia,
Algaida, Llucmajor and the sea. It corresponds to the municipal
term of Palm Cabrera's subarchipelago formed by Cabrera's
islands, Conejera, Estells, Imperial, Rodona, Foradada, Plana,
Pobra and other minor islands.
Climate.
Palma has a moderate Mediterranean climate with an annual
average temperature of 17ºC and one average annual rainfall
of 450 l/m2.
