In Matera, the "Sassi", prehistoric accessions composed by houses excavated in the rock even slightly inhabited, have been declared by the UNESCO " Patrimony of the humanity ", which well deserves a visit for its cultural value.
In Potenza, capital of the region, in spite of the fact that the earthquakes damaged the historical center, still preserves interest its archaeological museum.
