Nature
always green, charming and radiant, is this region. Cities
where the concept of historical center is not sufficient
to define the monumental and artistic set of Umbria. Perusa,
the capital of the region, has a great wealth of architectural
works and of art: of the Etruscan walls to the splendid
palace Gallenga, headquarters of the prestigious university
for foreigners. The same thing happens with the splendid
Gubbio, rich in Franciscan memories and in monuments of
medieval and Renaissance epoch. Terni, modern industrial
city, possesses real jewels as the churches of San Salvador
and San Francisco and in its surroundings, a masterpiece
of the nature as the spectacular cataract of the Marmoras.
Finally, Asis, the natal city of San Francisco (and of
Santa Clara, founder of the order of the Nuns of the order
of St Clare), one of the most known and frequented by
the pilgrims universally christen place.
